For this project, the homeowner wanted to reclaim some usable parking space and eliminate the soggy muddy mess at the bottom of the slope. So we started with a clean cut to bring the grade to a good sub grade below the driveway elevation. Applied a road base fabric to keep the mud from pushing up through the rock. Then we added a base layer of rock as well as a retaining wall to make the edge of the hillside look clean and keep from eroding. I also added a stairway to match the retaining wall blocks used for a smooth access to the upper level of the yard. On the side of the driveway we extended the road up a short way to create a turn around and also add more parking area.
